About the car

Racer Tim Birkin wanted more power from the Bentley 4½ Litre, even though founder W. O. Bentley opposed supercharging. Dorothy Paget helped fund the project, creating the famous Blower. Its large supercharger became a visible expression of the team’s determination to chase speed.
