Behind the design

About the car

The Cord 812’s concealed headlights and distinctive coffin-shaped nose made it look unlike other American luxury cars. It used front-wheel drive and a V8, with a supercharged option available for 1937. Gordon Buehrig’s styling remains closely associated with the model’s identity.
