The Beetle evolved through many small updates rather than frequent complete redesigns. Volkswagen’s archive records changes around 1967 including revised lighting, brakes and electrical equipment. Specifications differed between versions and markets, so an apparently familiar Beetle can conceal a surprisingly individual mechanical story.
