Behind the design
The GTA 1300 Junior applied lightweight construction to small-capacity touring-car racing. Light-alloy panels were attached to a steel structure, and the compact engine used two spark plugs per cylinder. Its competition versions achieved numerous class successes: careful weight reduction mattered as much as outright engine size.
